国际青年足球知名赛事土伦杯目前正在进行，该赛事吸引了法国、日本、丹麦、沙特、墨西哥等国家的青年队参加。
此前报道，因为适龄球员需要参加全运会，中国足协放弃派队参加今年的土伦杯，而这无论是对U22国足，还是U20国青队（本届土伦杯，04-06年出生球员均可参加）而言，无疑再一次错失高水平的国际比赛机会。
土伦杯是一项创办于1967年的传统赛事，每年定于5月下旬至6月上旬进行，邀请世界各国和地区的高水平青年队伍参赛。
中国的俱乐部球队与国字号队伍先后曾13次参加过这项传统赛事，尤其是像85国青队曾连续两年参加过这项赛事，而且还曾在2007年获得迄今为止的最好成绩亚军。但2019年，希丁克率97年龄段国奥队参赛、仅获得第8名之后，中国球会就再也没有机会去参加这项赛事。
